OUR STORY
As some of you may know, and many of you probably do not, we met in a rather silly way and probably against all better judgment. Yes, we met on Myspace. Drawn to some of Heidi’s earlier writings and philosophical questions, Eric responded with his own. Within a day of debating and discussing the world around us, we decided that we had to meet. Unfortunately, we had chosen to go ice skating on the wrong day at the wrong time and ended up at Barnes & Noble bookstore, where we coincidentally ran into Heidi’s sister, Chelsi. She quickly gave Heidi the sign of approval (a thumbs-up) behind Eric’s back. As we talked over the next few weeks, we discovered that we’d crossed paths many times and were genuinely surprised that we had never met before.
Not long after we started dating, Eric moved two and a half hours away to Atlanta for school. We both knew we had something unique and special, so we kept the relationship up and visited each other ever weekend (or as often as circumstance would allow). Through many ups and very few downs, the relationship lasted well over three years. When graduation came for Eric and he saw that he would have no problems landing a job, as well as having not been able to see Heidi for far longer than either could stand, he asked her to marry him. There was no hesitation on Heidi’s part. Now we enter the planning phase with high hopes that things will go smoothly and that the Papyrus font will never make its way onto anything having to do with this wedding.
Interesting side note: After the first time Heidi’s mom met Eric, she said to Heidi, "I could see you marrying him someday."
